Pacific Diagnostic Laboratories (PDL)
Dr. Monica Phillips is the Medical Director of PDL and our group provides anatomic pathology services for PDL. PDL is a regional reference laboratory that offers a broad menu of testing in clinical and anatomic pathology services including clinical chemistry, hematology, microbiology, and anatomic pathology (including subspecialty services in breast/gyn pathology, cytopathology, dermatopathology, gastrointestinal/hepatobiliary pathology, genitourinary pathology, and hematopathology). Dr. Phillips directs PDL’s COVID-19 testing program.

We aid in the development of companion diagnostic research and testing, including FDA clinical trials for the companion diagnostic test associated with PD-L1 directed therapy.

We support UCSB in an array of ways including medical directorship, clinical consulting and teaching. Dr. Emily Waterhouse is the Medical Director of the UCSB Student Health Laboratory, Dr. David Martin-Reay, Dr. Matt DeNicola, and Dr. Emily Waterhouse consulted on the UCSB COVID-19 task force, and Dr. Emily Waterhouse teaches at the National Kavli Neurosciences Institute of Neuroanatomy course held annually at UCSB.
