Mission Statement

Mission Pathology Consultants is committed to producing the highest quality individualized pathology services to its clients. The Group employs board certified and sub-specialty trained pathologists, with expertise in dermatopathology, gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary pathology, breast and gynecologic pathology, hematopathology, molecular genetics, and laboratory medicine. Sub-specialty expertise ensures every case receives the attention it deserves, and that the most appropriate ancillary studies are added or recommended as needed. This includes reflex testing for the most up-to-date markers in cancer cases, answering molecular genetics questions, and comprehensive reports delivered rapidly across most electronic medical record (EMR) systems.

Mission Pathology pursues a culture and practice of continuous quality improvement. Specifically, this includes expansion of sub-specialty offerings, a commitment to continuous assessment and improvement of our medical practice, and improved efficiency in workflow and business practices. We focus on promoting quality and availability through relationship building with our medical colleagues.

Mission Pathology is based in Santa Barbara, California, and partners with a large regional reference laboratory to allow our services to be available throughout the Central Coast. We pride ourselves on 24/7 availability as well as providing each client with a point person to answer all their questions and help coordinate any laboratory needs. Our unique commitment to quality in clinical laboratory medicine provides our clients with “one-stop-shopping” for all surgical pathology and clinical laboratory needs. Our pathologists are easily accessible and available for consultations including longitudinal pathology review, conference presentations, and lab interpretation and molecular diagnostics questions.
