Dr. Ahsan is an experienced pathologist with expertise spanning more than two decades in clinical practice and academic settings. He earned his M.B.B.S from Dow Medical College Karachi, in Pakistan, and completed his residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at Danbury hospital in Connecticut, affiliated with the Yale Univ School of Medicine. Following his residency Dr. Ahsan pursued further subspeciality fellowship training in hematopathology at Indiana Univ School of Medicine, which solidified his expertise in the area. He has served on various hospital committees, presented at tumor boards, and contributed his expertise in managing pathology services and support for major Cancer Centers (such as Karmanos Cancer Center) in Michigan. He has been involved in mentoring residents, as well as research in areas of cancer pathology. His areas of interest are Breast, Gynecologic, Gastrointestinal, Genitourinary, Lung, and Hematopathology. His international experience adds to his credentials having served in prestigious practices and institutions both abroad and in the states of California, Florida and Michigan; with over 20 years of dedicated service to the Michigan community.
He believes in bringing a sensory approach to life, balancing his work with a passion for perfumery being a Cognoscenti, swimming laps, and finding joy and inspiration in the small pleasures of travel and life with family and friends.
